all u need is actually a USB cable, a suitable resistor depending on your LED and some duct tapes to cover the wire works

MIke, using the mouse is just temporary. I used it coz i wanted to use the on board resistor so that my LED doesnt burn out.

Is there a better way of fixing the USB powered LED using the mouse? The default light with CR1220 is too dim
